Gail, as a second request, could you please post your qualifications?

For the second time...

I am a registered midwife. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) which upholds the standards in nursing and midwifery and lays down our rules and code of preofessional conduct. We are tightly regulated by them who protect the public through that regulation.

I have a degree, BMedSci, in midwifery which I studied for over three years at the University of Sheffield. As well as being expected to do clinical work for 37.5 hoursa week I also had to find time to read, study for exams and write assignments and care for as house and 4 children who were 15, 13 6 and 5 at the time with no partner to help me. The youngest one also has ADHD. It was a struggle, believe me.

Since I have qualified I have also studied and are half way towards my second degree in women's health. As an aside I also undertook a paediatric course so that I can do the first neoatal exam that paediatricians usually do.

I think that just about qualifies me...

Gail

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
