I have an idea...

How about the OBs giving up the low risk stuff, leaving it to the midwives, and just deal with the high risk stuff? If a woman wants and OB she can have one and if she wants a midwife she can have one. It should be woman's choice after all.

That way if women women wanted a homebirth they could have one without the battle they have to have. It would be great for everyone. The women would get what they wanted and the OBS wouldn't have to moan so much about what women want.

How about it? If not why not?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
