Re: OB-GYN-L digest 4115From: Barborza@aol.comMon Aug 29 10:32:16 2005
In a message dated 8/28/2005 2:17:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, RModugno@aol.com writes: American obstetricians practice their profession under a veil of fear - fear of malpractice litigation. No LM, CNM, NP, PA, RNC, Doula or consumer of women's healthcare can imagine the shoes in which we walk! I think CNMs, the vast majority of whom work closely with MDs, DO understand. I personally am happy that the buck doesn't stop with me. I didn't, however, chose midwifery over medicine for that reason. The legal climate was much different when I started my graduate program in 1984. Barb Orza, CNM Atlanta

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
