Another is enterouterine fistula secondary to diverticular abscess. I did some literature review last night. An article from the green journal in 1992 suggested inserting a tampon after giving activated charcoal and watching for the charcoal to pass through the gut. If it is seen in the vagina around the same time it is seen per rectum, you have the diagnosis. I'll probably try that the first of the week, I won't be around over the Fourth of July to see her.
