Re: Vaginal Cuff EviscerationFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Mon Jun 27 10:51:42 2005
Use PDS suture--when this first came out a long time ago, one of our older attendings said use that "Pretty Damn Strong" suture :). Garry Seriously, don't know if I would use PDS or not; a delayed absorbable may really be a good idea, but I would have to also consider Monocryl, or maybe just Vicryl. It might be a good idea to see what the surgeon used, and how he closed it, if the op note is available.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
