This circumstance is a very personal and tough one – you can have all the available data but at the end, one has to ask -- with which consequence (s) you can live the rest of your life at “peace with yourself” after making the decision…. If you choose an amniocentesis and because of it, an abortion of a healthy child occurs or don’t do it and – a baby with Down syndrome or other chromosomal abnormality is born? – both are direct consequences of our choices… tough. To Dr. Wang and his wife I wish them the best .. the wisdom to choose adequately, the acceptance of their choice and to their Doc – strength and caring.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
