Re: 36+ weeksBHC vs early laborFrom: David Rivera (cuurmudgeon@sbcglobal.net)Sun Jun 12 07:56:19 2005
*GASP* Pregnant women might be manipulative? I'm shocked shocked! that you would suggest such a thing! Might also be for the benefit of her husband. I was always amused when they grabbed the poor sot around the neck and said, "You did this to me, you son of a bitch!!!!" The residents at one of my former hospitals had an Arab couple who defired the stereotype of subservient women. She went into active labor. He looked at her and she lit into him in whatever colorful dialect with probably equally colorful expletives. He turned at leaned his head on the wall. Everytime he looked at her, she yelled at him again. GA12L@aol.com wrote: Do you think it might be 'put on' for the benefit of the OB? We have women who have clearly read the books and know exactly what to say when they get fed up with their pregnancies!! Baby not moving, abdo pain etc., etc. Cynical? You bet I am. Gail

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
