It was really hard for me to be patient with these folks -- after my first pregnancy - where I had contracted since 23 weeks - working the whole time- then had the false labor for three nights (still working with naps here and there throughout the day!

They would whine and ask "how long are you going to let this go on?" I'd say things like Mother nature picks her own time -- or the baby picks its own time ... or some other thing. I would bite my toungue (well ... except I think once I told the patient my story and she quit whining - she got to sit around all day - didn't have to decide whether she'd go to work or anything like that).

I wouldn't ARM or induce at 36+4.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
