This is not specific to the scenario presented but, in general; I wondered if anyone used Mirena as the opposing progestin for peri/menopausal women? My understanding is that the action is local, not systemic, therefore ovulation or physiological attempt at ovulation is not prevented. Since it's effective (as birth control) for 5 years, a woman may need E2 for menopausal sx's before removal is necessary. Thanks, Diane

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
