OB: Vasa PreviaFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Tue Apr 5 17:05:50 2005
A delightful 36 YO P1011 at 32 weeks, prior C/S for repeat, brought in a short article from Prevention Magazine (Feb 2005) about Vasa Previa, and the Ob quoted (a med school faculty member) said it could be detected antenatally with vaginal doppler scanning, and should be picked up. She asked is she should have this, and I said "You can, but it is not standard and this is a rare condition." Any thoughts? Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
