Remember unless it is a c-section so that belly is open, you as a physician have a right to NOT do an elective procedure. You can not be forced to do a procedure (you'r a catholic and don't sterilize) etc, etc, etc. That case would be considered frivolous in most courts and in Texas, may well allow sanctionable penalties under Rule 13 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
