WE have 16 labor rooms and limit scheduled inductions to 2 per day. All are indicated. Some because the patient is a grand multip and 4 cm and lives 30 minutes from the hospital. Some are done for 41 weeks. A patient in the hospital who has pre-eclampsia that becomes severe gets induced at that time and is not included in the scheduled one. The last time I looked, "Elective Induction" was defined as done only for the convenience of the physician or the patient.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
