If money's being laid down on Ron's proposition, I'm putting minr with his viewpoint. Should there be any departed Parkland staff or trainees who continue private practice breech deliveries, they've probably had to cut their volume back due to too much time in depositions.

What one does during training or in university hospitals often has very little in common with what one does in private practice. It would be interesting to track the docs trained at Parkland or any other institution that does breech births, VBACs or other high risk procedures and see how long they continue performing those procedures in a private practice in a community hospital. I’m sure you would see a curve starting near 100% and quickly approaching zero over time.

Its been a few years since I was there, but UTSWMC Dallas-- (Parkland Memorial Hosp.) did vaginal breech deliveries routinely.

We have at least 5 physicians within a one hour distance Ventura-Los Angeles that routinely do vaginal breech delivery. They have delivered quite a few of our breech clients within the last ten years.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
