The 459 gm 25 week baby that I delivered by Classical C/S en caul 3 mos ago, went home yesterday at a whopping 2300 gm. multiple US's showed no evidence of head bleed. Mother had severe Pre-eclampsia with BP's in the 180/110's and 7 gm of proteinuria, developed visual changes and RUQ pain. Those were the precipitating factors for the delivery. After I made the uterine incision, I put my hand under the baby and lifted out baby, placenta and intact membranes in my hand. Most atraumatic delivery that I have ever done. Mother went home on Post op day 5. This is the smallest surviving baby that I have ever delivered in my 41 years of doing OB. Everyone is very optimistic that it will also be an intact survival which is the real goal. Dan R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
