Re: Going into medicineFrom: Henry Gregor (henrygregor@yahoo.com)Fri Jan 28 15:27:58 2005
While I was at the birthing center for a few hours the other am, with a cancelled/rescheduled office appt list, my office manager and front desk staffer had the opportunity to work bascially uninterrupted with our IT consultant. Very helpful for the office, with several intranet issues worked out, improved, updated, etc.....I estimate I will almost - emphasis on almost - clear enough from the global payment, after overhead, to cover the technicians costs. I love the profession, but as a business livelihood proposition, I would not encourage my children to enter it. As for my kids, I hope and pray that they find something else to do with their lives, especially since for the short term, I don't see anything to improve our situation. In fact, I'm willing to bet that the situation will become much worse before anything changes. I've heard that recent residency matches have been frequently unfilled in ob/gyn. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
