Re: Premature Menopause (surgical) and Bioidentical hormonesFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@yahoo.com)Tue Jan 18 06:20:26 2005
I'd probably see her ... tell her about how really expensive the hormone tests are - and that I follow how the patient is doing and not what the lab is saying (while the lab is making big bucks) .... Also I'd probably educate her that we can give bioidentical (17 beta estradiol and progesterone) therapy for surgical menopause without going through these shenanagans. So ... No to #1 and Yes to #2. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
