.. Fla. Court Tosses $104 Million Pool Death Award Miami Daily Business Review Last week, a Florida appeals court panel found a jury was right to hold a pool drain maker liable for a 14-year-old boy's injuries -- but the panel reversed the verdict and the $104 million judgment, which judges called "shockingly excessive." The 2003 award was believed to be the largest verdict in an individual personal injury case in state history. The case focused on a 14-year-old boy who suffered brain damage from being sucked into a pool drain after his friend removed a loose, protective grate. http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1104154516401
