Only difference now, Anna, is that most hospitals have eliminated the nursery. They are now mother-baby units where the baby/basinnette stays at the mom's bedside from birth to discharge. They won't watch your baby while you sleep or shower, which I feel is dangerous in case the baby vomits/aspirates while mom is sleeping, or while mom's in the shower, baby gets kidnapped. Alarm ankle bands are not foolproof. The nurses were mad at me when I refused to take a morning shower-I told them I'd shower only in the late afternoon when my husband was there to watch the baby.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
