We use tele-radiologists in our hospital to perform nighttime readings. All of them must go through the hospital credentialing process like any other member of the medical staff. That includes having a valid state license.

Did I not read in the WSJ today that some x-rays are being read in India via teleradiology?

Surely, if a physician does that, they would need to have a medical license in the state in which the examination took place?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
