This is indeed true. I think this is one of the ways they're going after internet Rx outfits.

If someone has a bug about this, find a case where it IS happening and file a complaint with your local state medical board. Let your tax dollars investigate and see where it goes.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
