MediCapture digital image capture add on for UltrasoundFrom: Brooke (brooke@addistribution.com)Mon Dec 6 10:38:55 2004
Being a sonographer at an OB clinic located a over 1/2 hour away from the physicians, our practice has been discussing the best methods used to send films (images) to our doctor. Recently a patient of ours pointed us to a product called Medicapture. I was thrilled to hear about something I thought made a lot of sense. We are considering getting this unit, but I would like to ask other's experiences. I would like to send U/S images either via my usual efilm route or email them directly to my physician. I'm going to have to say that I like the latter of the two modalities as it is incredibly simple. The Medicapture product looks as simple as pressing the capture button and getting digital images that you can save in your EMR software program or save, email or archive just as a digital photo. This is what I would like to accomplish, in the simplest way possible http://www.medicapture.com/usb100_sample_images.htm It seems that $1,500 is a very small price to pay for these capabilities, although I would like some feedback from other users if this product provides what it claims. Also please let us know if you were able to get a better price than $1,500. The price is great, but saving more would be even better. -brooke

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
