Both mammos were done at a breast center and read by a radiologist friend of ours who only reads mammos and breast ultrasounds full time. I was one of the 20% that mammos miss, so I hope you'll order an urgent US for your patient. It's better to be safe than sorry !!

I think the boilerplate software caveat that prints out on the mammogram reports in this case quote that 10% of breast CA isn't detected on mammogram. But either way, 10% or 20% are significant. The thing I'm concerned with - it's a palpable mass by all concerned. Does a "negative" mammogram allow you to wait and do nothing - or wait a month or two and repeat the "negative" mammogram. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
