I agree, particularly since there are surgeons in larger areas who specialize only in breast care. Despite this, primary care physicians continue to send patients with palpable lumps to us for evaluation. We, in turn, send them to a breast surgeon. I guess it's a holdover from past times when gynecologists did more breast aspirations and open biopsies. Ashley

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
