Interestingly enough, the only suit that has ever been filed against me involved general internal medicine (and thankfully was finally dropped).

The topic of breast CA and malpractice came up at Thanksgiving at Mom's house this year. The sister-in-law who had needle bx that was read as CA followed by benign findings on excisional bx 10 days later was still proclaiming that she should have sued the surgeon. I walked out of the room. The whole malpractice crisis and the effect it is having on the lives of many people I know has become very personal to me.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
