Re: CNM CasesFrom: Elrod Darryl G MAJ 48 MDOS/SGOBO (Darryl.elrod@LAKENHEATH.AF.MIL)Mon Nov 29 01:27:59 2004
What exactly is a hypnobirth therapist??? We must have a freeze on hiring them in the Air Force, I've never heard of such a thing. Glen D. Glen Elrod, Maj USAF, MC Obstetrician/Gynecologist Maternal Child Flight 48 MDOS/SGOBO UNIT 5210 Box 23 APO, AE 09464 DSN (314) 226-8334 Comm 01638-52-8334 Most of the doulas or labor assistants are Licensed Midwives, Bradley instructors, and Hypnobirth therapists from the area. We have worked with them for many many years. They are nothing but supportive and well educated. When a woman requests a referral for a birth assistant or doula I make sure that they know and understand the importance of employing someone who has worked with us in the past and understands the practices of the hospital as well as the individual CNMs in the group. Denise, CNM So Cal Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: "Wow... What a ride!!!"

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
