Asked my husband who's a general surgeon and he said it makes no difference. Silk's been used for 100 years but most now are using PDS(long suture that's looped so it's easy to use) or Vicryl. I have always seen tocolytics used after abdominal surgeries during pregnancy. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
