I have a friend who has a patient that is described below. Any comments???

I have seen a 29 y/o w/f with a history of sagittal sinus thrombosis (in the head) followed by development ofpseudotumor cerebri. This occurred in 1996 and then re-occurred in 1997. She had no clotting abnormality found on visit to hematologist. She has been on coumadin since 1997. MRI scan of head now shows non functioning sagittal sinusand all cotrical veins draining to the straight sinus and internal cerebral vein. She is stable with normal neuro exam. She wants to get pregnant and the hematologist and OB here feel she could do this as long as she stays on heparin or Lovenox.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
