Cyst of Canal of NuckFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@yahoo.com)Wed Sep 22 13:57:57 2004
52 yo G0 with mass in the lateral mons -- most likely a Cyst of the Canal of Nuck -- essentially a hydrocele with probable inguinal hernia associated with it. The local general surgeons seem totally unfamiliar with this. I have never operated on one. I suspect she will need an exploration of the inguinal canal to completely excise the hydrocele and probably a repair of the inguinal hernia as well. Would any of you do this yourself - or would you send to a gyn onc as they are "in this area" for other operations? What would you do?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
