Office ultrasoundFrom: Jane Helwig, MD (jane@helwig.net)Wed Sep 22 12:39:45 2004
Lease on our Siemens Prima office ultrasound is running out. Looks like Siemens has a new entry-level machine called Siemens Adara which has replaced Prima. The Aloka SSD-3500 is a new machine that looks good, has color, and is cheaper than Siemens Adara. Phillips (formerly ATL) has the Ultramark 400C which is supposedly an updated version. We have a 4-year-old ATL Ultramark 400C at our hospital which has beautiful vaginal probe images but takes forever to power up and also a long time to switch probes. If anyone uses the Siemens Adara or Aloka SSD-3500 would be very interested in your experience with it. Any other suggestions for a good office ultrasound? Thanks!
