Interesting Insurance Suit

Here in Missoula, there are two hospitals, which are served by a single radiology group of 12 physicians and a single anesthesia group of 28 physicians. About a year ago, both groups became dissatisfied with the Blue Cross contracts and decided to stop participating. Needless to say, this has caused quite a stir with patients because the Blue's are the primary 3rd party payer in the state. Today, the Blue's announced a law suit against the radiology group for having a "predatory monopoly". I am sure a similar suit against the anesthesiology group is forthcoming.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
