Don't know anyone in Cincinatti, but if she were willing to come down to Sarasota Fl I would be happy to see her and do the supracervical laparosocpic hysterectomy - think of it, vacation in Florida, 1 week in the sun, and go home sans uterus :)

There is nothing wrong with OCP (in her case she should have been using them continuously, not cyclically) but if they do not help she needs a choice - Lupron, ablation, hysterectomy etc, and whatever she choses after explanation of risks and benefits is her choice. Her GYN should AT LEAST review the options with her, not adamantly push one procedure. That is a source of public disgruntlement with out profession - these absolute positions, regardless of what patient wants or needs.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
