Re: Postpartum Eclampsia--labsFrom: Len2976@aol.comWed Aug 11 21:55:39 2004
The question was asked (by Charlie?) which labs were checked: On admission she had a CBC with Platlets--which were 344. She also had a Chem 24 (BUN 11, Serum Creatnine .6, SGOT 22, SGPT 33), a D-dimer (negative). Cath urine had trace proteinuria. On the 1st PP day her platlets were 274, serum creatnine, BUN, SGOT, SGPT all were normal. When she came into ER her initial B/P was 190/105; they kept her approximately 1 1/2 hrs. Her serum creatnine was l7, SGOT 31, SGPT 47, and Platlets 399. Urine again had a trace of protein in it. She was discharged from the ER (again without the obstetrician being consulted) with a B/P of 145/92. Lenora McCall, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
