Re: Placenta percretaFrom: Steve & Eryl Raymond (eryl@intekom.co.za)Sat Jun 19 14:14:49 2004
As you have implied that no-one can know all that is needed, how is it helpful to make a big issue of educating patients when it is obvious that it is going to be partial knowledge. The old saying that "a little knowledge is dangerous" didn't come about out of a sense of fun you know! What exactly are "the realities of birth and the limitations of modern obstetrics" and is 36 - 40 weeks enough time to complete the module? It seems to me that the education should include a big section on "shit happens". Far too much blame when things go wrong goes in the wrong direction. Steve Chrisa93@aol.com wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
