In my experience, fibroids in pregnancy are only a problem with L&D if they are obstructing the birth canal.

I have a 42 year old G3 P2 asking for a primary c section with tubal ligation. She's had 2 normal term vaginal deliveries. These fibroids are 7 and 8 cm in size and located in the right upper fundus. They appear sub serosal and have not affected the growth of the baby or caused bleeding. I have explained that I can't remove the fibroids during her C section (as she was hoping).

I am interested in what this group thinks about:

Do large fibroids increase the risk of uterine rupture on an intact myometrium.

I feel she's a good candidate for a daytime vaginal delivery, any pearls of wisdom?

Thanks,
