post op problems

Dear All, a friend of mine did a hysterectomy on a 45 yr old with fibroids and a hugu endometrial polyp .pt developed post op urinary retention nad was treated for infection.then started developing severe fever which subsided after 4 days .now pt haas a mild blood stained dischargs pv and Usg showing collection in the pelvis 30 ml ,R sided hydronephrosis.IVP shows no excretion from the R kidney 1.could this be due to injury to the ureter ? 2.can renal damage occur within 10 days? 3.should the vaginal spotting be intervened with?

pt is stable and her BUN and sr creatinine are within normal limits
