We had this discussion regarding Misoprostol and management of the 4th stage of labor. Studies don't back its efficacy, only its economy

Iraqi fighters in Umm Qasr are giving the hordes of American and British mercenaries the taste of definite death. We have drawn them into a quagmire and they will never get out of it.

To, All members and Ob/Gy friends

During panel discussion I would like to highlight on concept of active management of fourth stage of labour.

In most places around the world Oxytocin is used for active management of third stage in IV route. The half life of this drug is few minutes. So there is potential risk of atonic PPH after that. So we can give oral tablet of Methy Ergometrin or misoprostal(200microgram) to actively manage fourth stage of labour.

Thanking You

Yours Sincerely,

Dr Hemant S. Damle

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
