I worked in the same L&D that my obstetrician husband did quite a few years ago. There was never any problem caring for the same patient and doing so in a professional manner. No one questioned that we should work together (granted, 25 years ago was a different climate). Was essentially no different from working with my current spouse with both of us department heads in the same hospital.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
