I think it the second, hypersensitivity to political correctness, and risk managers at the hospital who give advice without EBM.

Well, I also wonder if it is either political (doesn't sound like it), or just hypersensitivity to political correctness and our litigious society.

It is counter intuitive, and doesn't make sense--but common sense is out the window today.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
