She is probably spontaneously aborting. I'd repeat Beta-hCG in one week if no symptoms of an ectopic. Beside, I thought about 30% of ectopics will spontaneously resolve.

transvaginal ultrasound was done for her. We also did doppler flow studies on the ovarian mass and we found increased vascularity. We did a repeat B-HCG after 48 hours and the values have dropped from 1500 to 243.

A oatient has come to our hospital . Tubal ligation was done for her on 01-10-03.She had reguar menses after that. She had her last menses on 16-01-04.She came to us with ammenorhea 5.4 weeks.Urine pregnancy test was positive.Ultrasound showed no intrauterine pregnancy, a 2 cm by 2 cm cystic lesion was seen in the right ovary.B-HCG value is 1518.What would be the most appropriate course of management for her.

Repeat hCG level in 48 hours, if she's asymptomatic. The ovarian cyst could be just that, a cyst. The pregnancy may be elsewhere.

What route was the ultrasound - abdominal or vaginal?
