Re: [Re:ACOG Guidelines Shoulder Dystocia]From: Anna Meenan, MD (annam@uic.edu)Sat Jan 24 15:15:24 2004
I've looked through the power point presentation. It was created by an Egyptian Doctor, Dr. M. El Sherbiny. It references ACOG 1991 Guidelines, but the slide that actually contains the list of suggested maneuvers contains no reference citation whatsoever. ACOG 1997 guidelines say there is no recommended order for use of maneuvers. I have never seen this list of maneuvers in this particular order published anywhere except in Dr. El Sherbiny's power point presentation, so I would not recommend publishing this particular list as "ACOG Recommendations for Shoulder Dystocia", because I suspect it is not.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
