Re: ? Failed TVTFrom: Abdul Raman Lilla (arlilla@hotmail.com)Sun Jan 11 01:02:12 2004
Hi Can someone help me! I have done a tvt on a 34 year old woman who presented with a massive cystocele and easily demonstrable stress incontinance. In fact her main complain was the large cystocele. I did not do urodynamic studies on her as she appeared to have only SI without urgency. I did an anterior as well as a posterior colporrhaphy on her and decided to do a TVT as well, to my surprise she still has marked SI two days post-op, what might be the reason? Is her SI likely to improve with time as healing takes place? Thanks Abdul Rahman consultant WH, Doha, Qatar

It is clear in its conclusions and most helpful for this patient. I like what is said in the last line of the conclusion - good to have this as a baseline in studying pathological conditions. Problem is, I have never seen any of the Australian doctors I worked with ever order transvaginal ultrasounds. Perhaps they are changing now.
>From personal experience I cannot tolerate transabdominal ultrasounds for So, what is the accuracy of both these tests? Both 100% or one better than the other? Or does it depend on what you are looking for as the indications for each test? Interested to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Thanks again Regards Joanne.
