Re: Patient Weight/Patch efficacyFrom: Angela DeTie CNM (Angcnm@aol.com)Fri Jan 9 17:22:45 2004
What I vaguely remember (I avoid reps like the plague) was that the failures that occurred during their trials occurred in women over 198#, therefore, they didn't recommend its' use in women at or above this weight. I don't recommend it to this population. It is a great way to gently address the weight issue though (always difficult for me). I have one woman who was willing to take the chance since she was so bad with other methods. She simply adds a vaginal spermicidal suppository. Infomed consent and all, how can I refuse! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
