Hi Michael,

I read your responce to Pelvico Dermal imlants and you stated that u have not seen a single TVT mesh erode the vagina, well I've seen and removed a mesh recently in a patient who had a TVT inserted a year previously and for the last 6 months her husband has complained of a pricking sensation during intercourse and i felt the edge of the tape protruding through the vaginal epithelium. This is the first time i,ve experienced this and unfortunately cannot explain why this had happened as it was not my own patient.

Thanks

Abdul

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
