OB: Ultrasound equipment

Dear all:

Our practice needs another ultrasound machine, basically used by the docs for early scans under 12 weeks (vaginally), as our old (10-ish years) Aloka is no longer supported by the company. Ideally, we are looking for a used machine that is servicable and won't be too out of date.

That said, we also are aware that new Sonosite machines may be relatively inexpensive, but I wonder if, similar to the desktop/laptop argument, we are better off with a "big" machine rather than a portable one in terms of fragility.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
