What about incentives by the rural towns themselves, or the government, to repay the substantial loan load most docs come out of residency with? Is that not even enough incentive to at least go back for a little while? (Says the CNM who worked in rural AR for 9 miserable months and came screaming to Atlanta 9 years ago!) The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
