A pet peeve of mine is big commercial labs getting all the biz because of insurance contracts at the expense of specialty labs. if your car needed transmission work, would you take it to the local gas station or to aamco? we have yet to have a big lab's positive toxo titer pan out as a true positive - when we send the specimen to palo alto for further evaluation, the patient is always found to be ok. i think that's what you're up against. you might wish to send confirmatory tests to the nearest ID lab if possible.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
