Re: OB: Full dilatationFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Wed Dec 3 04:18:02 2003
Remember, that is with a FUNCTIONING epidural. With an epidural, most folks are now letting patients do what is called "Labor Down" That is labor and bring it on down a little before they start pushing. BTW, I personally think that shutting off an epidural to make someone push better is somewhat cruel. They have had all this wonderful pain relief and then you take it away when they need it most. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
