Funny..I'm dealing with just that type of case, Lynn. Not seen on CT or U/S, but discovered on MRI. I have elected to discount the MRI, and besides, she may need surgery for other reasons. I learned the lesson early in my career when an associate operated on a patient for a 10 cm mass found on MRI. At the time of surgery, no mass, normal pelvis. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
