This is REALLY a job for a lawyer who is familiar with this sort of stuff. When they get the courts involved and have the power they have (i.e. Child Protective Services, etc.), you CANNOT afford to miss a beat or make a mistake. They'll swoop her baby up at birth quick as you can bat an eye. If they want to INCREASE her dose, against medical advice, you need to be aggressive and go after them and advocate for your patient/client.

I would advise the MFM and you and the lawyer put your heads together and go for it, if you think the mom is sincerce, etc., etc.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
