Re: Endometrial cells on papFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comWed Oct 1 22:03:58 2003
In a message dated 10/1/03 5:30:02 PM, wdmcintosh@charter.net writes: << I have been referred 2 of patients in the past month that are 40 and 42 respectively, with endometrial cells on pap and a comment from the pathologist that this is an abnormal finding. I did endometrial bx on each, but I don't have any confidence that I didn't waste their money. I always did the biopsy on postmenopausal women, but I can't see that it is necessary in the younger women. >> Let me make an out-of-the-box comment on this. These two women have now found a dedicated and concerned GYN to take care of them. They're probably a LOT better off now, as they head into the years of menopausal symptoms, ERT (or not), bone density screening, etc., etc. Keep asking the questions. Tis a good thing. Joe P.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
